To celebrate B Corp month, we're offering fellow B Corps a 25% discount on Envato Elements Enterprise Subscriptions throughout March and beyond.
It’s officially B Corp Month! As a certified B Corp, we value ‘walking the walk,’ which means being a force for good by supporting other organizations that go beyond business as usual. That’s why we’re offering fellow B Corps a 25% discount on Envato Elements Enterprise Subscriptions throughout B Corp month and beyond.
The non-profit organization B Lab awards B Corp certifications to businesses that positively impact across five key domains – governance, workers, community, environment, and customers. And, in doing so, they lead the way in using business for good.
“At Envato, we get to contribute to a larger purpose,” explains Michelle Drake, Envato’s People Experience Specialist. “We’re an organization that makes decisions based on our values. As a B Corp, we’re part of a global community continually raising the bar and using business as a force for good. We’re happy to contribute to transforming the global economy to benefit people and the planet.”
As this year’s B Corp Month theme is ‘we go beyond,’ here are some ways Envato strives to go above and beyond as a B Corp to impact positive change for our community, customers, and environment.
We’re continually looking for ways to create a positive environmental impact and deliver on our sustainability promise as a B Corp. Our Greener Good Sustainability Committee, an employee-led committee, advocates for sustainability initiatives such as partnering with the Backyard Honey Pollinator Partner Program, our volunteering event with Clean Up Australia, and our pledge to go totally carbon neutral.
“We have an incredible chance to impact and help restore this planet that we share directly,” says Michelle, leader of the Greener Good Sustainability Committee. “While it’s easy to feel helpless in the face of such a large and often charged issue, we remain optimistic and continue taking action toward sustainable solutions. We also hope to inspire other companies to take action and recognize the incredible impact they can have.”
As a company, Envato prioritizes creating value and offering support to our customers and the wider community. As a company, we continually strive to contribute to the economic and social well-being of the people we serve.
For example, in 2022, we pledged support to our Ukrainian Authors and started a relief fund to assist members of our creative community affected by the war in Ukraine. Additionally, over the last few years, our Envato Foundation has supported and partnered with charitable organizations creating opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people through development and education.
“Envato consistently contributes to our community’s economic and social well-being,” says Michelle. “One of our values at Envato is, ‘When the community succeeds, we succeed,’ and this is the perfect example of our values as an organization in action within the B Corp movement.”
Envato continually enhances its policies and processes to balance purpose and profit and strengthen our ethics and compliance practices.
Over the last year, we’ve implemented some excellent policies, including our public holiday swap and gender affirmation guide. Our public holiday swap policy allows employees in Australia, New Zealand, and Israel to swap up to four gazetted public holidays for another day of significance throughout the year. Meanwhile, our Gender Affirmation Guide empowers managers to support transitioning employees by providing documentation about the gender affirmation process, helpful resources, and information on how to find help at Envato.
“As with any guideline or policy, the aim of our Gender Affirmation guideline and supporting documentation is to help our employees to navigate a process or situation,” says Envato’s Senior People Experience Manager, Claire March. “For the managers and coworkers of a transitioning team member, this would most likely be an unfamiliar situation, and they’ll want to know how best to support their coworker. We want to make it as stress-free and smooth as possible for everyone involved, so having a clear guideline is important.”
As an employer, Envato’s top priority is ensuring our employees’ financial, physical, and mental well-being. Recent examples of initiatives to support employee well-being include running economic well-being sessions, weekly yoga classes, and ongoing mental-health support from Envato’s Mental Health First Aiders.
In addition to the above, Envato also has an ever-growing list of Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) to assist Envatians from all walks of life. These include the Mental Health Inclusion Committee, Tech Gender Diversity Network, The Greener Good Sustainability Committee, The Social Committee, and Out@Envato – a staff-led group dedicated to advocating for LGBTIQA+ employees and creating a safer and more inclusive workplace.
“It’s fantastic to see how our organization truly values its employees,” says Michelle. “As a B Corp, we’re lucky to improve and refine our employee experience from several fronts – it’s pretty amazing!”
