A new relief package will give all of Envato's workforce the chance to rest and recharge before Christmas.
Envato’s global workforce of more than 600 will work to a nine-day fortnight for the rest of 2021, while employees will also receive monthly contributions to make working from home more seamless as part of an update of the company’s benefits entitled #YourWayIsOurWay.
“There has been nothing easy about managing full-time remote work since this pandemic began, and we realised there were a number of things we could change that would make life easier for our team,” said CEO Hichame Assi in announcing the changes to employee benefits as well as the temporary relief package for all workers.
Those changes include:
“We are proud of the fact that Envato is different. We’re a values-led, independent B Corp that along the journey to building something great also helped normalise remote and flexible working in the Australian tech sector.”
“We know the world has changed and we can be doing more to have a responsive, globally-recognised benefits program, in a way that highlights to our people that we have their back during what has been an incredibly stressful time for many.”
The #YourWayIsOurWay changes come as part of a wider review of Envato’s benefits for staff. This assistance has also most recently included a partnership with The Resilience Project, a school holiday program for parents and carers as well as ‘15 Hours for 15 Years’, giving staff an additional two days of leave as part of the company’s annual birthday celebrations.
Envato is already well known for being an industry pioneer in the flexible working space, from its much-lauded pre-covid Work From Anywhere policy and its support since day one to giving all staff flexibility around their other life commitments. As a B Corp putting fresh emphasis on its global business of balancing profit with purpose, Envato has also been recognised in the top 15 of the annual Great Places to Work survey seven years in a row.
And Hichame Assi flagged that the business wasn’t done making changes. “We’ll always strive for continuous improvement and ensure we’re responding to the way our lives evolve. Our global team are at the heart of everything we do.”
“In the meantime, we’re just thankful our people have continued to trust in the business to do the right thing, so we can, in turn, help them get back to what matters most in their lives.”
