Envato Joins CEPIC, A Leading International Body For Digital Stock Assets
CEO Hichame Assi will also deliver the keynote at the next CEPIC congress this May.

Envato has this month officially joined CEPIC, one of the worlds leading international groups to represent photographers, videographers, stock agencies, and asset libraries including Getty Images and Alamy.
The Coordination of European Picture Agencies Stock, Press, and Heritage, or CEPIC (Centre of the Picture Industry), helps advocate for rights holders who license digital assets for commercial use. Its list of policy focus issues is varied: current areas include copyright reform, online competition, AI tooling, respect for metadata and the standardization of image works identifiers.
Speaking ahead of this year’s CEPIC Congress, Envato CEO Hichame Assi said he was pleased Envato had joined the collective. “We’ve long prided ourselves on our focus in connecting with, supporting, and empowering a global creative community.”

The 2023 CEPIC Congress is the largest event in commercial still and moving images worldwide, with more than 400 delegates across 100 companies in 32 countries set to attend in France this May.
Hichame Assi, who will be the keynote speaker at this year’s event, said CEPIC is at the very centre of where creativity meets technology. “Visual imagery plays a crucial role in shaping our perceptions and attitudes towards various aspects of society. From advertising and entertainment to news and education, the images we see have a significant impact on our beliefs and values. This is only increasing as AI-based technologies become more popular.”
