"We're thankful for another opportunity to support the work Smiling Mind is doing"
The Envato Foundation has pledged to match donations up to a total of $25,000 as part of Smiling Mind’s annual end of year giving campaign.
Smiling Mind is a non-for-profit app-based meditation program developed by psychologists and educators to help make mindfulness and mental health support more accessible for Australians of all ages.
The Envato Foundation had previously partnered with Smiling Mind in September of last year to help expand its targeted mental health programs being delivered alongside the Ngaanyatjarra Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Women’s Council (NPYWC).
“We’re proud to be able to partner again with Smiling Mind, after the success of our recent project with them in partnership with NPYWC,” said Briany Kalms, Chair of the Envato Foundation Board. “Our support helped Smiling Mind develop five new meditations for their mindfulness app, all developed in the first language of the communities NPYWC represents.
“We’re thankful for another opportunity to support the work Smiling Mind is doing, not only for Indigenous communities, but for the mental health of Australians everywhere.”
Smiling Mind CEO Addie Wootten says “Australia’s kids and young people have been hit particularly hard by the social isolation that’s come with the past couple of years. We’ve seen a huge rise in people using our App and programs all of which are free.
We are able to keep them free thanks to partners like Envato supporting our programs and campaigns”
The Envato Foundation added three new partners in 2021, including Bond University, Enrise and Story Factory. The Foundation has now committed $1.7m AUD in funding across six years to all of its partners.
