"Milestones like this are important not because of what they say about Envato, but because of what they mean about our community."
Envato has paid out over $500 million dollars to its global community of creatives who sell items and services on Envato’s online marketplaces. This is a significant milestone for the company, which was founded to help people earn a living doing what they love.
Designers, developers, videographers, musicians, and other creatives use Envato to reach millions of customers around the world who need high-quality digital assets for their own projects. These assets can then be seen everywhere from Hollywood feature films to the website of a local business.
“Milestones like this are important not because of what they say about Envato, but because of what they mean about our community,” said CEO and co-founder Collis Ta’eed. “There are thousands of industrious, highly skilled and talented people around the world making an income online. Every time this number gets bigger, it means more people have had this opportunity.”
More than 35,000 people from over 100 countries have sold an item on Envato Market, with 77 community members generating over $1 million in sales each.
“Envato has allowed me to express my creativity and make a living from it. To me, that is a great sense of freedom,” said Melbourne-based designer Brad Goble (aka SevenStyles). “It is also a fantastic feeling to create products that are appreciated and enjoyed by people all over the world.”
Envato is now focused on the longer-term goal of helping its community reach $1 billion dollars in earnings.
