French digital artist BeVisualz is fascinated by the wonders of the universe. Exploring his passion for outer space in his art, his work features everything from mesmerizing star clusters and magical nightscapes, to dream-like characters and other-worldly scenes. In addition to selling his work on platforms such as Displate and Society6 and partnering with Adobe France and Photoshop, BeVisualz also shares his Photoshop edits on Instagram, where he’s built a loyal community of over 20K followers.

Since getting into digital art back in 2017, BeVisualz has developed a unique, surreal, and artistic style, which has captured the attention of audiences all over the world. We sat down with the talented creator to learn about how he uses Envato Elements to bring his ideas to life…

What’s your artistic background and how did you get into digital art?

Back in March 2015, I started exploring the world of photography – first with my phone and then with a camera. I was mostly attracted to the concept of nightscapes and stars, however I also dabbled in urban photography and landscapes too. I got into digital art in 2017 when I started seeing other artists sharing their work on Instagram. I was very impressed, so I decided to start learning Photoshop myself. I began with quick tutorials, but when it comes to mastering Photoshop, I’ve found that it’s best to explore the software and try things out for myself.

What’s the mission or meaning behind your work? What are you trying to achieve with your art?

The mission behind my work is to encourage people to dream and escape their usual routine. I want to make people feel good – that’s important to me. I also like to give advice to budding digital artists in my community. It’s a great feeling to know that other creators can be inspired by my art. One of my biggest goals is to make money with my art. After six years of hard work it’s just started to pay off, and I think it’s just the beginning of a great journey for me.

Your work is out of this world! How would you describe your signature style and how did you develop it?

My work is mainly about space, stars, and the wonders of the universe. I practice both 2D and 3D art, and I love experimenting with blue tones. I’ve developed my signature style through years of practice. I work on my art daily, and I’m always striving to improve my skills and try every day to do better than the last.

What inspires your artwork? Where do you look for inspiration when you’re in a creative block?

I’m inspired by what I see on Instagram and on Pinterest, and from music too. To be honest, I don’t often find myself in a creative block. My mind is always buzzing with creative ideas. But, on the rare occasion that I’m struggling to find inspiration, I go to Envato Elements. As soon as I start looking through the photos and graphics, my mind immediately starts creating ideas.

What’s your creative process?

I have a pretty simple process. I put on some music, open my computer, then go to Elements to search for images.  When I find the perfect images, I import them on Photoshop, start up my Wacom tablet and get creating!

How does Envato Elements help you create your work? What’s the best thing about Envato Elements for digital artists like yourself?

Envato is the best stock site I’ve ever used. It has millions of high-quality images perfect for my work, plus – it’s unlimited! That’s extremely useful for me, because it means that I can take as much time as I need to find exactly what I want. The best thing about Envato for digital artists is its quality and quantity of resources.

What types of items do you use the most? How do you create your Made With Envato Posts?

I mostly use photos and the 3D elements. My three favorite edits made with Envato are “Under Stars Pt.2”, “Fall Call”, and “Wedding Stars”. For “Under Stars Pt.2”, I started by adding the mountain, then the planets and finally the man.

For “Fall Call”, I started by adding the landscape with the waterfall then used sky replacement with Photoshop to add the mountain and the planets. I then placed the man and the dog, and finished the piece by making many tweaks and adjustments.

And for “Wedding Stars”, I first used the Mont-Saint-Michel photo and then added the married couple in the middle.

What main programs, tools and techniques do you use to create your work?

The main software I use to create my work is Photoshop. Most of the time I use the same tools and techniques – mainly the brush tool, the lasso tool, color balance, exposure layers and the brightness/contrast layer adjustment, as most of my edits feature night scenes. I then use Adobe Camera Raw to finalize my edits and make any color adjustments.

Where do you sell or promote your work?

I sell my work on platforms like Displate and Society6, and I’ve also collaborated with sites like Andy Okay and Ecstase. My work has also been featured by big brands on Instagram, such as Photoshop and Adobe France.

What have been some of your career highlights?

The most exciting opportunity to come from my art was partnering with Adobe France to promote their Inspiration Generator tool. That was an awesome achievement, and I’m really proud of it.

What’s the biggest learning you’ve had from becoming a digital artist?

The biggest thing I’ve learnt since becoming a digital artist is to do what you love! That’s the most important thing – create for yourself first. Practice everyday, love what you do, and always strive to improve your skills.

You’ve built a great community. How beneficial has Instagram been for sharing your art?

Instagram has been great for sharing my art because it’s a gallery that the whole world can see. It’s epic to be able to show your art to an unlimited audience for free, and it’s benefited me greatly as I’m now able to make a living from my art. My advice for growing a solid social media following is to remain consistent and post as often as you can.

How has digital art changed the direction of your life? Words of wisdom for others wanting to turn their art into a career?

Digital art has changed the direction of my life and career in a massive way, as I now have the opportunity to work with big brands that I love. My top words of wisdom for other artists is to be rigorous, be consistent in your work, enjoy what you create, and have fun!
